Why this experience?

Hydra is the island that invites you to stop time and relax.Beautiful cobbled streets next to the endless blue, paths for demanding walks and traditional settlements of natural beauty.

It is one of the most attractive islands you will ever visit. From the very first minutes you walk in its alleys you feel like you are in another era.

The city of Hydra is one of the most beautiful you will find and is full of traditional houses, of the 17th and 18th century with tiled roofs, dark blue doors and windows.

Donkeys and horses are, along with sea taxis, the only means of transport on the island, since wheeled vehicles are prohibited on the island. Everything in this place is transported by hand, mules or carts.

Many movies have been shot here. The windmill of Sophia Loren is also mentioned here, from the characteristic scene of the movie “Boy on the Dolphin”. Many painters and artists have chosen to live here, one of them Leonard Cohen, who bought a house in Hydra in 1960, an initiative which, he said, proved to be the smartest of his life, as the island gave him confidence, calm and inspiration.

Once, in one of his travels, the American writer Henry Miller wrote about the island: “There are only two colors, blue and white, and white is freshly whitewashed every day.Aesthetically it is perfect, the very epitome of impeccable anarchy that it replaces, because it includes and transcends all the standard settings of the imagination.Hydra is a pause in the score of the creation of an excellent calligrapher “.

It is not possible to visit Greece without seeing even one of its islands.
